Goldfish Fever

I'm broke.. Not because of spending money on girlfriend, nor on my car, but on some aquarium pets. Yes, for these 2 days I've been buying goldfish like crazy.

Just weeks before Chinese New Year, fish shops will have the once-a-year-only stock, importing various kinds and colors of goldfish from China, specially for CNY. These fish are really worth buying coz of their unusual bright colors and shapes and especially their breed compared to the local goldfish, although they are "made in china". Instead of china products being the pirated ones, as in almost everything, in this case, local goldfish are like the pirated ones, and China goldfish are the original ones.

I've been buying these fish like how mothers shop in Boulevard during the Year End Sale, buybuybuy. This morning babe and I even waited outside a fish shop for it to open. And we were their first customers. Their stock just came the previous night and I got to choose the best ones.

Jess spotted a very unique goldfish among the others, gold color with black fins, tail, even the lips.

Gothic-style goldfish.

The lao ban said it's a unique one and he showed me another goldfish which is different from others too. It's the one in the first picture on top. The whole head is white in color. I've never seen anything like that before. I bought both of them for double the price of the usual ones, after discount. The gothic one is babe one coz she said she saw it first and if it weren't for her I wouldn't notice it too. Sad, but true. haha..

I tried to take pictures of my fish but failed. They all turned out to be very blur. So I recorded a video of my aquarium just for the fun of it.

WARNING : Please do not watch if you're not interested in fish coz you'll be bored to death in front of your pc thankyou.

Rottnest Island

I've been wanting to go to this place since last year when I first came to Perth. This year, I finally got to see and be there and had fun, and it was much better than what i expected it to be. It was Superb.

The night before we went to Rottnest, sis tried to book the boat tickets online but didn't succeed. So the next morning, we went to the port at 8 something to buy the tickets at the booth. There were so many people going to Rottnest and they were crowding at the booth. When it's our turn, we were told that the next available boat to the island will be at 11.30 am. We had no other choices but to take it. So we sat there under the sun with cold wind and waited till 11 something.

The express boat was big and has 2 floors.

I thought it would be a short ride, but it turned out to be 30 minutes for the express to reach the island. From the island we could still see the city faintly and tiny. It was far.

It was afternoon by the time we reached. At once I was stunned by the beauty of the island.

The water was so clear I could see right to the bottom of the sea. The wind was even stronger at the island and we had to wear our thick sweaters to get through the cold.

People travel around the island by bicycles, so the first thing we did was renting bikes.

But then luck was not on our side. They were chun chun out of bikes when we needed them. The guy said there were more than a thousand people went to the island that day and told us and the other visitors to use the bus instead.

Unable to get our bikes, we went to Dome to grabbed some food while sis and her bf went to check out the bus tickets and snorkeling gears. Me, mom and sis waited at Dome for around 30 minutes or more for our food. The excited mood was totally gone by then. Sis and her bf returned and they bought 2 sets of gears. We ate and then walked to the bus station booth to buy tickets.

But then we saw a notice sticking on the glass.

Fuhh. Hai bu soi.

We were so frustrated. We did not have much time left on the island as we needed to get back to the port to catch the express at 6.30. Just as we were heading to the gift shop to purchase the tickets, the lady from the ticket booth came back from lunch.

So we bought and boarded the bus.

After we got on the bus, it was then that we realised how LUCKY we were when they were out of bikes earlier before. The road to our snorkeling destination was so damn far away and the road goes up and down and up and then down and it went on.

We were saying if we were to cycle to the place, we would be lying half dead at the beach instead of jumping into the water.

Thank God for letting us went there by bus. After we got down from the bus and looked down from the hill, all we could say was W-O-W.

It's a paradise! Never before had I saw such beautiful beach. Not even in the tv! Well maybe ever before in tv but experiencing it real life, nothing can compare to that.

We took a steep and tall stairs down to the beach. Everyone was so excited. Mom was freezing from the wind. The rest of us couldn't wait to throw ourselves into the crystal clear water.

But then the water was soooooo cold, the moment our feet touched the water, we screamed.

It was exactly like ice water lo. I thought I was gonna freeze in the water. It took us quite some time to build up the courage to push our bodies deeper and deeper into the icy cold sea.

That was my first time being inside such cold water. We were screaming while trying to deep our bodies into it, and were still doing it while in the water. It was too cold to even swim in there. Because there were only 2 sets of gears, sis and her bf went snorkeling first and they swam further. While me and my younger sis stayed at the shallow part and couldn't stop shouting "cold!!!!!!".

We tried to remain as shallow as we could just to get as much heat from the sun as possible. But it was of no use. My whole body was actually shivering inside the water with my legs tightly closed together and hands hugging my own body. I couldn't imagine myself staying any longer inside there, so I called my mom and asked her to throw me my towel. I'm getting out of that freaking cold sea.

Sis followed and the two of us wrapped up ourselves in towels. Hid ourselves between rocks and shivered in cold. Freakin cold man!

Sis and her bf swam further and to deeper parts, taking photos using their new underwater camera. We waited on shore till they got back. It was supposed to be our turn to snorkel but I didn't wanna turn into a human ice block in there. We changed into our clothes. After that sis found out that they missed the good snorkeling part. They were supposed to swim a little bit further to enter the real snorkeling site, instead they turned back just before entering there. She said she'll go back some other time. haha..

Kuokka. Can be seen at all parts of the island.

We took the bus again and went back to the main part of the island. Ate some fast food from Red Rooster. We were too tired to explore more of the island. It was 4 something. There were still 2 hours more till our express arrived.

So we just hang around the port and the beach there.

Picked up shells again along the beach. Just sitting there admiring everything around me.

The island did not disappoint us. Everyone had a time of our lives. Our stress and worries just seemed to disappear while we're on Rottnest.

Although I did not get to see the corals and fishes beneath the sea, just being there relaxing, putting everything behind and just blend in with nature, is totally worth it.

7th and 8th day

Went to attend Sunday Mass yesterday morning.. I thought I had to wake up early in the morning for mass.. Mana tahu the mass here starts at 9.30 am one..

After mass we went to but some bread and other stuffs for we planned to have a picnic at the beach in the afternoon. Instead of Cottesloe, we went to the city beach yesterday.

It's my first time here.. There were a lot less people here unlike Cottesloe, but the beach view is just as amazing. Just look at the colour of the sea.

Damn sui lo.

The wind was strong and cold.. In Miri we hate to be under the sun but in Perth, we love the heat from the sunlight rather than being under shades.

Just look at mom with the jacket. She's the most cannot tahan cold de. My mom look so yeng in this picture.

The water was too cold for a swim for us. But the ang-mos just jumped into the sea and had fun all they could. I think my body will be too cold and numb to move in that temperature of water.

We had roasted chicken, bread with butter, jam and cheese. Then we strolled along the beach and picked up some random shells.

It took us lots of energy to walk along the beach coz the sand was soft and our feet sinked as we took each step.

We were exhausted after spending around 2 hours at the beach. Went back and i took a long nap.

At night.. We walked to a Thailand restaurant not far from our apartment and had thai food for dinner.

This dish looked like the ones they have in Miri.. Tasted almost the same too.

Curry. Tasted sweet. Weird dish for me.

This is the yummiest of all.. Something like mushroom soup but its sour.

Walked back after dinner and watched episode 16, which is the last episode of the korean drama. Finallly. They all slept early last night.. I stayed up a little while more as i already took a nap in the evening.. Read twilight for a while before joining my younger sis and mom on the bed. I'm having very sound sleeps in Perth till now. I guess it's the pillow.

This morning, we went to Harbour Town to shop.

But we were window shopping instead of buying stuffs. Most of them too expensive. BORING + SIEN.

Went to McD for lunch. Then went back to change clothes as we were going to have a photoshoot with sis for her graduation photo. So all of us dressed our best and mom n sis put on some make up. Then we went to Curtin Perth and had a photoshoot session.

After that, sis brought us to Carousel. A huge shopping mall. I wanted to come here coz I wanna check out the bookstores here and see if they have the 4th book by Stephenie Meyer, the Breaking Dawn.

Sis bought a new rice cooker. And we walked till cannot tahan anymore. Sat at Gelare for so long while waiting for sis to shop for underwater camera. Had waffles with ice-cream at Gelare.

Eat till all full full..

I have luck today because I found the 4th book right after going into Carousel, in a bookstore beside the entrance. Bought it.

Babe, I've got you all of the 4 books. This is the only bookstore that sells this book among the others that I've been to. Really glad that I found it. Now I gan yien already.

Sis also bought a new camera able for underwater use.

Coz we're going to Rottnest Island tomorrow!!!

5th and 6th day

Everyone has been asking us to go to Fremantle to eat fish and chips. It's like a must-do if you're in Perth.. Sis brought all of us there yesterday afternoon..

There were lots of people and boats.

The port is a spectacular view.

It was windy and the wind is cold.. Mom couldn't stand the cold but I liked it.. It's just a very suang place to have lunch.

People queuing up for their famous fish and chips.

We ordered 3 main meals, the fish and chips.

And 2 side meals which we shared.

They were tasty and most of them were chips.. Big and fat.. We couldn't finish all of them and ended up tapao one whole packet of chips home.

After eating, we walked to the beach just opposite the place.

They call this port - The Worst Damn Hole. lol name.

Family and Wing Kin.

Then Wing Kin drove us to the light house nearby. It was sooooo windy and cold, we quickly took some photos there and then jumped back to the car to take cover.

We then went to the Cottesloe Beach.

I've been here too last year.

This time there were more people.

The sun was shinning so damn bright so we left the beach after 5 minutes. Unlike the sunbathing ang-mos, we didn't wanna get too dark instead.

Went home and watched this korean drama for the rest of the day.

18 vs 29. It's a very nice drama babe. When get back to Miri see can find this on the internet or not. Or anywhere.

Slept early last night as mom them wanna get up early to go to the market to buy some cheap fruits. They woke up around 6 something and they all went to the market except me.. I lazy wanna go.. haha.. I slept till they came back at 9.

Mom bought 3 boxes of fruits. Plums, peaches and pears. A box of plums cost AUD 5$, same goes to the pears. Peaches are AUD 10$.

Very cheap but confirm cannot finish lo.. Gonna continue the drama after this. Episode 10.

11 days to seeing u again babe. Love you lao po.. muaks muaks!
